About us
At Columbia Gorge Health Council (CGHC), we recognize that positive change is only achievable when ALL sectors of the community share the same vision and come together for the common good. Columbia Gorge Healthy Community is intended to help everyone learn about the health and well-being of Hood River and Wasco Counties. It provides local data, resources, best practices, grant opportunities, community events, and information on a broad range of topics affecting the health of our community while highlighting local assets.
The Columbia Gorge Healthy Community website brings this wealth of information to one accessible, user-friendly location. The intent is to give our community the tools we need to read and understand the public health indicators affecting our residents' lives. The tools can also help the community set goals and evaluate the progress of our current CHIP priority areas. Service groups, schools, health associations, chambers of commerce, tourism, and many other community-based organizations can use this information to show the great benefits of living in the Gorge and potential improvement opportunities. The data is updated whenever source data is updated, providing the most up-to-date information.
Columbia Gorge Health Council hopes this site and data will support our efforts to continue doing a community-wide, collaborative CHA/CHIP process. We look forward to what we can accomplish together in our shared work toward building community health and well-being for all people in the region.
